Worlds Slow-pitch Tournament Vegas 2016

In November of 2016, Caught Looking travelled to Las Vegas to participate in the World slow-pitch tournament.  Although we didn’t do so hot in the tournament the trip itself was full of amazing experiences and I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to experience the Worlds tournament.  10 days were spent in Vegas and 3 of them were scheduled for the ball tournament and those days were packed full with different tourist attraction stops.

Day 1 (Saturday): was a relaxing day after our flight in but we managed to catch the Carrie Underwood concert which was amazing.

Day 2 (Sunday): was a catch up on sleep and tour our hotel the Excalibur and see some of the sights that were close by.  In the evening we took in the Cirque de Soleil show at the Bellagio called the “O” water show.  It was an amazing show with so much going on you never knew where to look.

Day 3 (Monday): Started very early with an amazing helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon, in the afternoon we headed out to explore Mandalay Bay where we took a stroll through the shark reef and saw a variety of species of sharks and other wildlife as well as we walked through Luxor.  In the early afternoon the 3 of us ladies headed to Old Vegas to stay at the Golden Nugget where we took the water slide through the aquarium and experience Freemont Street.  The Golden Nugget is not only home to the water slide but also to the Hand of Faith which is the largest known solid piece of gold.

Day 4 (Tuesday): We walked up East side of the strip where we took in the sights.  We stopped at M & M World, Shake Shack that had amazing milk shakes, we went on the New York New York Big Apple Coaster and ate dinner at Planet Hollywood that had an all you can eat pasta dinner special.  We also went to the Coyote Ugly Bar at the New York New York hotel.

Day 5 (Wednesday): Today was the adrenaline day.  We started off the day by getting on the bus to take us to the other end of the strip to the Stratosphere where we went up to the top of the tower where we took part in the 3 rides that are up there.  The 3 rides were called Insanity, X – Scream and the Big Shot.  Insanity holds you out over the edge of the tower while you are spinning, X-Scream shots you out over the edge of the tower and you cant see the ground and big shot is very similar to drop zone at Canada’s Wonderland.  After our adventures at the Stratosphere we headed back down the strip stopping in at the different casinos along the way.  Eventually we got back on the bus to our hotel/casino so we could get ready for our night at The Steakhouse which is a really nice restaurant at Circus Circus.  The dinner was amazing along with dessert!

Day 6 (Thursday): We took a bus to the north end of the strip to the Wynn and got off and walked back down to the hotel stopping at the various hotels and casinos along the way.  We started at the Wynn and along the way we went into Encore, Plazzo, Casino Royale, The Venetian were I bought a donut from Carlo’s Bake Shop and it was delicious, Bally’s, The Flamingo where we walked through the Flamingo wildlife habitat, Paris where we went up the Eiffel Tower and the views were amazing, we also saw the Love Lock Wall, we ate lunch at Gordon Ramsey’s Fish and Chips, saw Osheas, Carlos and Charlies, Margaritaville, The Cromwell, went on the High Roller at the LINQ with a bar in the pod and it was all you could drink with your admission, we walked past the star of Elvis Presley and in the afternoon we had front row seats to the NASCAR burnouts right on the strip. The show that we took in this night was the Criss Angel the Illusionist and his Mind Freak show.

Day 7 (Friday): We went up to Treasure Island, The Mirage were we went through the Secret Garden and saw the dolphins and Siegfried and Roy’s lions and tigers.  We walked through Caesars Palace and then we headed out for a ball practice before the tournament the next day.  This evening we went to the George Strait concert where we sat in the box seats and his show was amazing.

Day 8 (Saturday): We spent the day at the ball park where we played 2 games and lost both of them.  In the evening game both myself and my aunt were injured although I was alright my aunt spent a while in the hospital with a torn muscle and ligament and spent the rest of the trip in a brace and crutches.

Day 9 (Sunday): We played our final ball game of the tournament this morning and then we stayed close to the hotel in the afternoon only venturing out to walk through the Tropicana and MGM Grand before attending the Tournament of the Kings dinner and show at the Excalibur.

Day 10 (Monday): We walked through the Aria and Monte Carlo and attended the Thunder Down Under Show at Luxor.
